When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.

          Monday January 20 th ~
      Published from Brother Richards house in Austin, Texas.
     Met my little brother (Ray) for brunch. Then did some running around chores in preparation for heading out tomorrow.
          Tuesday January 21 st ~
     Said my goodbyes & thank yous and drove to Lockhart, Texas where I was able to minister at the "Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center". Then on to Yoakum, Texas to Cousin Ricci's.
          Wednesday January 22 nd ~
     Spent the day palling around with Ricci and attended mid-week services in Hallettsville, Texas where I got to say hi to some more kinfolk.
     My Dad was one of twelve kids, so I've got lots of cousins in this neck-of-the-woods.
          Thursday January 23 rd ~
     Sang at the "Stevens Health & Rehab Center" here in Yoakum. First in the activity room for a bunch of "Red Hat Society" ladies, then over in the Alzheimer's Unit.
     This place was originally built and operated many years ago by some of my aunts and uncles. It has since been sold to a corporation. Part of the deal was that they got to keep the name, due to the positive reputation in the community for the high level of loving care provided.
          Friday January 24 th ~
     Ministered at the other nursing home here in Yoakum which is next to the hospital.
     Enjoyed lunch and dinner with cousins.
          Saturday January 25 th ~
     Said my goodbyes & thank yous and drove northeast to Don & Sue Ellen's (first cousins) outside of Burton, Texas for an afternoon of visiting, including some pick'n and grin'n.
          Sunday January 26 th ~
     Joined my cousins at a "Home Church" type worship service nearby, where I enjoyed the honor of contributing some songs. What a wonderful time of fellowship, including a delicious pot-luck lunch afterwords. These dear folks truly love one-another.
     Then back to Don & Sue Ellen's for some more visiting. Sweet!  
     
And so begins another week.

          Monday January 13 th ~
      Published the newsletter in Roswell, New Mexico. Then drove east into Texas where I was able to minister in the nursing home in the town of Brownfield.
     This city park has a section with RV hookups, free for up to 5 days. So I was able to run the heater on this near freezing night.
          Tuesday January 14 th ~
     Continued southeast to Big Spring, Texas where I received a warm welcome at the "Texas State Veterans Home". The activity director gathered a large group of residents and staff for a wonderful time of Praising the Lord.
          Wednesday January 15 th ~
     Continuing southeast, I slid into Llano, Texas where I was able to minister at the "Hill Country Healthcare Center", first in the main entry lobby, then in the Alzheimer's Unit.
     This is a small-----older facility housing the poorest of the poor.
     Drove on into Austin in time for mid-week services at Jubilee Christian Center where I got to say hi to a bunch of old friends.
          Thursday January 16 th ~
     Spent the morning getting the yearly State Inspection on the van. It Passed:-)
     Met my dear Brother George for lunch and a sweet time of fellowship.
          Friday January 17 th ~
     Spent most of the day with dear Brother David, who I call "The ministry's technical adviser".
          Saturday January 18 th ~
     Over to a dear Sister's house (Rose) for their Saturday morning Proverbs study and fellowship breakfast. Then to dear Brother Williams' for a visit and lunch. Followed by some time with dear Sister Sarah.
          Sunday January 19 th ~
     Attended worship services at Jubilee. Then swung by my biological sister Janet's where I visited for a bit with a couple of nephews.
     Spent the afternoon at dear Brother Richards watching the playoffs.
     
And so begins another week.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

          Monday January 6 th ~
      Published the newsletter in Kingman, Arizona. Then drove east a couple of hundred miles to Winslow, Arizona.
          Tuesday January 7 th ~
     Ministered at the "Winslow Campus of Care" for a predominantly Native American group of residents and staff. First in the main activity room, then over in the Alzheimer's Unit.
          Wednesday January 8 th ~
     Continued east crossing the border into New Mexico.
          Thursday January 9 th ~
     Sang at the "Good Samaritan" nursing home in Grant, New Mexico. Then drove to the "Beulah Retreat" just outside of Albuquerque. The couple who started "Faith Comes by Hearing" turned their little ranch into a place where ministers can stay for free and get some rest. About fifteen hundred folks a year from all over the world come through here.
          Friday January 10 th ~
     Jerry & Annette (my host) invited me to stay another night, so I thankfully agreed. Went into town and ministered at the "Albuquerque Heights Health & Rehab Center". Then over to the "Faith Comes by Hearing" complex where Jerry had their tour guide take me through their operation. About 150 people work here getting the Bible narrated into every language. About 780 so far.
     Many of these language groups don't have a written form, only oral. Or they are groups with high levels of illiteracy who can't read or write, but they can hear the word. FCBH even has a program for the deaf, which is video of someone signing the Bible in their language. Awesome ministry.
          Saturday January 11 th ~
     Enjoyed a sweet time of fellowship with Jerry and Annette during breakfast. Said my goodbyes and drove to Roswell, New Mexico.
          Sunday January 12 th ~
     Attended worship services at the "Trinity Praise" church here in Roswell where I enjoyed the honor of sharing in word and song. 
     
And so begins another week.

Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town. “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves.           Monday December 30 th ~
      In Eager, Arizona I was able to minister at the "Bee Hive" assisted living facility after publishing the newsletter from the home of Brad & Jody (members of the Calvary church here in Springerville, Arizona).
     Another couple from the church (Lance & Liz) who own a gas station west of town had asked me to stop on my way out, so they could fill up my gas tank. Sweet!
     Continued west through the mountains to Payson, Arizona where I met Byron & Kathy who are members of Calvary as well. They spend a few months through the winter in this slightly lower altitude.
     Spent the afternoon getting to know one-another.
          Tuesday December 31 st ~
     Breakfast with Byron & Kathy, then over to the "Good Samaritan" assisted living facility where Bryon's mother lives. I was able to minister for a sweet group of folks in their Chapel.
     Said my goodbyes and drove south down to Apache Junction, Arizona which included a twenty mile stretch of gravel road with some scary hairpin-turns and cliff edges. The little van got quite a workout.
     Hooked up with Les & Judy and joined them for a meal and movie at their Celebration Recovery service held at one of the churches here. I got invited to share a few songs and a bit about the ministry.
          Wednesday January 1 st ~
     Did an oil change on the van, then joined a group of about twenty at La-rue & Dee's motor-home from noon till 4:00pm. This dear group of Believers from several different churches ushered in the new year with a pot-luck meal, some testimonies and lots of singing. I enjoyed the opportunity to lead a bunch of songs and share a bit.
     From there I got over to Pam & Ricks motor-home for a grilled Salmon dinner. They are working at the Resort RV park they're staying in this winter. Originally met them in Minnesota, they are full-time RVing these days. Haven't seen them in about three and a half years.
          Thursday January 2 nd ~
     A quick visit with friend's Bill & Shirley, said my goodbyes to Les & Judy, put some stop-leak in the radiator and drove west past Phoenix to a free primitive campground for the night.
          Friday January 3 rd ~
     Continued west, crossing the border to Blythe, California and sang in their Care Center. A small, older facility I've managed to get to most years.
          Saturday January 4 th ~
     Angled north into Nevada to Boulder City to the "Veterans Home" where I enjoyed such a wonderful reception last year. Unfortunately Bob (the Chaplain) was not on duty today.
     A very sweet lady who seemed to be in charge invited me in to sing as they were gathering for their regular worship service. But after only two songs, a rather unpleasant female staff member got all bent out of shape over something going on that was not scheduled, and demanded that I leave.
     Which I did of course.
     Sadly, demoralizing events do occur in this ministry. Thankfully, they're few and far between.
          Sunday January 5 th ~
     Having driven back into Arizona, I got over to the "Desert Highland Care Center" in the town of Kingman, just after breakfast time, where the Charge Nurse graciously allowed me to come in and share with the folks. Then got over to the "Good Shepherd Lutheran Church" just as their service started.
     
And so begins another week.
