Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.
Proverbs 4:5, 6

          Monday October 20 th ~
Started off this week in Espanola, New Mexico where I've been parked at the Baptist church doing some recording work over the past few days. I was able to finish the editing on "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross". Click to Hear.
Published the newsletter from their wifi.
Packed-up the recording equipment and drove to Albuquerque, New Mexico where I hooked up with Jerry & Annette, founders of the "Faith Comes By Hearing" ministry.
          Tuesday October 21 st ~
Breakfast with Jerry & Annette at "Beulah Retreat" where they live a few miles south of Albuquerque on several acres. There are several houses and a large barn which has been converted into their living quarters, including several guest rooms for visiting missionary's.
After saying my goodbye's I drove south to Socorro, New Mexico where I was able to minister at the "Good Samaritan" nursing home, first in the Alzheimer's Unit, then in the main dinning room for a slightly larger group.
          Wednesday October 22 nd ~
In Quemado, New Mexico I hooked up with old friends Kenny & Laurie. I first met this wonderful family about the third year into the ministry as I was driving through the Datil Mountains. I attended the church they were pasturing. Got invited to sing during the service and afterwards they had me back to their house to park overnight.
The next morning was a holiday. They were both school teachers so they had the day off work. Laurie went to the store and came back to make a T-Bone steak and egg breakfast. Yum! Afterwards while sitting around the table visiting, Kenny turns to me and in a very humble way, offers their minivan for the ministry.
Now for the first two years I'd been using a 1991 Dodge Caravan which burned about a quart of oil every two hundred miles. Theirs was a 1997 Dodge Caravan. Same make and model, only six years newer and in great shape. So the bed I'd built and the curtains moved right over with very little adjustment.
I used that vehicle for the next four years. Got it up to 224,000 miles before the next one showed up.
          Thursday October 23 rd ~
Spent time visiting with these dear friends.
          Friday October 24 th ~
Attended the Quemado Senior Center's second annual "Christian Singing" event. I'd been given the honor of leading off the music with a couple of sing-along medleys and my one minute sermon. Then I just kicked back listening to the other folks who contributed.
          Saturday October 25 th ~
     A day of rest.
          Sunday October 26 th ~
Drove across the border into Arizona, to the "Bee Hive" assisted living home in the town of Eager where I was able to minister with the folks. I noticed that of the thirteen residents, only one was picked up for a church service outside the home.
Then over to the Calvary Church where I enjoyed the honor of sharing some songs and message during the worship service. Lunch with my host, then fifty miles back to Quemado for the evening.

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Proverbs 8:10, 11

          Monday October 13 th ~
     Columbus Day.
Up early. Drove into the small town of Springer, New Mexico where I parked beside the library and accessed their wifi from the van to publish the newsletter. Then got over to the nursing home in town where I was able to minister for an appreciative group of folks. In a very large room they had about thirty recliners arranged against the walls in a horseshoe configuration. Standing approximately in the middle, it seemed like most everyone could hear me just fine.
Did the laundry-mat chore in town, then settled into the local RV Park where the owner only charged me ten bucks to plug-in overnight and shower.
          Tuesday October 14 th ~
Drove through Las Vegas, New Mexico where I stopped and sang at the nursing home, then on to Espanola, NM where I hooked up with an old friend (Paul) at the Baptist church.
          Wednesday October 15 th ~
Breakfast out with Paul where the decision was made to stay through the weekend.
In an unused class room I was able to set up the recoding equipment and started working on a song.
Also received an email from Scott, the owner of the Christian Radio Station in Newport, Oregon. He had a suggestion of recording the weekly newsletter for broadcasting on his station as a regular feature.
Paul suggested a simple way to do that, which I did, then sent it off to Scott as an mp3 attachment.
          Thursday October 16 th ~
Continued recording work and attended a once-a-month senior luncheon here at the church. And later, a men's evening meal and Bible study, as well.
          Friday October 17 th ~
Sang at the nursing home here in Espanola, then did some more recording work.
          Saturday October 18 th ~
Spent most of the day finishing recording and editing "In The Garden" Click to Hear.
          Sunday October 19 th ~
Attended worship services here where I was given the honor of contributing some songs and testimony about the Lord's provision for this ministry through the years.
Then enjoyed a time of fellowship at lunch with Paul's family.

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.
1 Corinthians 14:29-31

          Monday October 6 th ~
Ministered at the nursing home attached to the hospital in La Crosse, Kansas. Then published the newsletter from the library in town.
          Tuesday October 7 th ~
Drove across western Kansas, striking out in two facility's before I was finally able to minister during the devotion time at the nursing home in Scott City.
     Then crossed into Colorado.
          Wednesday October 8 th ~
Sang at "The Legacy" assisted living facility in Lamar, Colorado.
          Thursday October 9 th ~
Ministered at the "Juniper Village" nursing home here in Lamar for a rather large group of folks. This is an older (60 bed) facility with what seems to be a loving/caring staff.
          Friday October 10 th ~
Rained all night and most of today. The owner of the RV Park here has for the second day in a row, given as a donation to the ministry, a free place to park, plug-in and shower. Sweet!
          Saturday October 11 th ~
Spent some early morning hours getting another eight hundred words into the current book project, then drove across southeastern Colorado to Trinidad where I parked at a Walmart for the night.
          Sunday October 12 th ~
Crossed the border into New Mexico to the small town of Maxwell where I attended worship services at the Baptist church. John (pastor) turned over the sermon time for me to sing and share testimony. Sweet group.
I was allowed to park at the church for the night, plugged into an electrical outlet as a cold front came through with high winds and frigid temps.

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Continued south crossing the border into Kansas.
Got a tooth starting to bother me. Something to pray about?
          Friday October 3 rd ~
Cold, wet, windy day. Only drove 30 miles to Beloit, Kansas where I had the opportunity to share in their nursing home. They allowed me to use the shower in a guest room, then I settled in their free city park campground which thankfully had electric hookups to run the heater on this 34 degree night.
          Saturday October 4 th ~
In Lincoln, Kansas at the "Lincoln Park Manor" I was able to sing during their "Sweets & Coffee" time.
          Sunday October 5 th ~
