Light is sweet, and it pleases the eyes to see the sun. However many years anyone may live, let them enjoy them all. But let them remember the days of darkness, for there will be many. Everything to come is meaningless. You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless.
Ecclesiastes 11:7-10

          Monday May 22 nd  ~
Started this week in Redfield, South Dakota. The sever low back pain I've been dealing with for the past week has eased up a little. So I got over to the Health & Rehab center in town where I was able to sing for a bunch of folks in the Alzheimer's Unit.
          Tuesday May 23 rd ~
Ministered at the "Eastern Star Home" here in Redfield in their quiet Chapel.
          Wednesday May 24 th ~
Loaded up the van. Did a little cleaning in the house which I've had the use of for the past week. Said my goodbye's and headed north.
          Thursday May 25 th ~
Having crossed into North Dakota, I took the day off at a campground outside of Jamestown.
          Friday May 26 th ~
Ministered here in Jamestown at the "Ave Maria Village" in their beautiful Chapel area, for a nice group of folks. Then drove a short way north to a cheap ($12) campground in New Rockford, North Dakota on this windy day.
White-knuckle driving; tossing this high profile vehicle around a bit.
          Saturday May 27 th ~
My low back issue (although still painful) seems to be improving each day, little by little.
          Sunday May 28 th ~
Drove north to Leeds, North Dakota and attended the "North Prairie Lutheran" church where I was given the opportunity to share a bit at the end of the service.
Turning west, I stopped in the town of Knox to say hi to some folks as their service was ending. Then on to Rugby, North Dakota where the owners of the "Oakwood Inn and Campground", gave me a free place to park, as in the past.

And so begins another week.

"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Matthew 26:41

          Monday May 15 th  ~
Published from the Christian radio station in Redfield, South Dakota which my friend Ted oversees.
In the afternoon, Joe (the local tire guy) installed two new tires on the van, which Ted had arranged for the church to donate. What a gift!
          Tuesday May 16 th ~
I somehow threw my low back out. Which thankfully only happens once-in-a-great-while.
          Wednesday May 17 th ~
My friends here have a furnished house, unoccupied at the moment. Which they've encouraged me to use. So tonight I slept on a bed in the house. Still painful getting up, but not as excruciating as sliding out of the bed in the van.
          Thursday May 18 th ~
A day of resting and stretching out the back. Very little if any improvement.
          Friday May 19 th ~
     No improvement.
          Saturday May 20 th ~
Broke down and took some over-the-counter pain medicine today. Helped quite a bit.
          Sunday May 21 st ~
Took one pill and attended the Baptist church in Redfield where I was able to share a few songs.

And so begins another week.

For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out--those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.
John 5:26-29

          Monday May 8 th  ~

Crossed the border into Minnesota and sang at the "Golden Living" nursing home in the town of St. Charles.
          Friday May 12 th ~
Continued west on into South Dakota. A highway detour took me through the small town of Clear Lake where I spotted a "Good Samaritan" nursing home. The staff had me share in their Chapel before lunch, during their devotion time.
          Saturday May 13 th ~
I've been noticing a vibration while driving the past few days. Took a close look this morning and discovered the tire patched back in Indiana had split down to the metal strands, about to blow. Got to a tire shop to have the spare put on, then drove to Tulare, South Dakota and hooked up with my friend Ted.
          Sunday May 14 th ~
Attended services at the Baptist church in Redfield, South Dakota where I was given the sermon time to share the Israeli slide show. Then lunch with Ted and family.
