John 15:17, 18

          Monday April 20 th ~
Published the newsletter from the "Christ's Church" in Ottumwa, Iowa. Also spent some hours finishing the editing on one of the songs recorded this past year for the next Cd. Click to Hear "What a Friend We Have in Jesus".
          Tuesday April 21 st ~
Ministered at the "Good Samaritan" here in Ottumwa. First in the west wing Alzheimer's Unit for a small group, then in the east wing Alzheimer's Unit for another group and eventually over in the Chapel of the main complex for a much larger group of residents and quite a few staff members.
          Wednesday April 22 nd ~
Shared at the "Vista Woods" nursing home here in Ottumwa. Then drove to Grinnell, Iowa where I arranged several facilities for the next few days and parked at the "Westfield" church just outside of town where they were holding the last night of a half week Revival.
          Thursday April 23 rd ~
Sang at the "Mayflower" facility in the "Carmen Center" which is their purpose built activity area.
          Friday April 24 th ~
Ministered at the "St. Francis Manor" here in Grinnell. Then later in the evening, joined friends from the church for dinner out.
          Saturday April 25 th ~
Joined a group from the church taking young-lings to a Skating Rink for the afternoon. Throwing caution to the wind, I put on some in-line skates and gave it a go. Did okay. No falls, broken bones or bruises.
          Sunday April 26 th ~
Attended services at "Westfield" where I was given the sermon time to share in song and testimony about the Aussie Mission.
Then spent time with a dear Sister for lunch and an afternoon Play (Dorthy in Wonderland) with elementary school cast members.

And so begins another week.

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
Habakkuk 3:2

          Monday April 13 th ~
Published the newsletter from the Baptist church in Macomb, Missouri. Then took care of some domestic chores including cleaning the AC & vent filters in the van and laundry at the Parsonage.
          Tuesday April 14 th ~
Drove north to Lebanon, Missouri and ministered at the "Northridge Place" assisted living facility. A group of five men from a local church came in just as I got started, who normally hold a Bible study. They sat in on our session, and afterwords visited a bit. One of them (Richard) offered a place to park for the night at his house. Sweet.
          Wednesday April 15 th ~
Richard made breakfast for me and his roommate. We said our goodbyes. Then I started north, stopping in three nursing homes before being allowed in to minister at the "Windsor Estates" in Camdenton, Missouri. Gwen (the activity director) actually moved Bingo from morning to afternoon in favor of the Gospel Music. Rare!
Continued north to Fayette, Missouri where folks at the nursing home have welcomed me over the years with a place to park, plug-in, shower and even provided meals. Sweet!
          Thursday April 16 th ~
Joined the residents for breakfast. Got in a walk. Topped off the fluid levels in the van. And sang for a large group here at the "Fayette Care Center".
          Friday April 17 th ~
On to Kirksville, Missouri where I was able to minister at "The Arbor" memory care facility for a lively group. Some of whom sang along with me.
          Saturday April 18 th ~
Spent the day relaxing at the "Thousand Hills State Park". Rained on & off most of the day.
          Sunday April 19 th ~
Attended the Baptist church in Greentop, Missouri where I was given the honor of sharing in song and testimony. These sweet folks even put out a donation plate for the ministry. May God Bless Them!
Crossed the border into Iowa to "Christ's Church" in Ottumwa. At their evening small group meeting I again was given the opportunity to share a bit. These dear folks allow me to park here and even give me a key to access the shower and washer & dryer in the church building, which was originally a large skating rink.
Got settled-in before some pretty intense storms arrived.

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.

If you see the poor oppressed in a district, and justice and rights denied, do not be surprised at such things; for one official is eyed by a higher one, and over them both are others higher still.
Ecclesiastes 5:8

          Monday April 6 th ~
Drove to the Walmart in Greenwood, Arkansas and took the plunge into a prepay smartphone which should run about the same cost (ten dollars a month) as the TracFone flip phone I've been using, if I'm careful.
Did the laundry thing in town and got over to the library to publish the newsletter.
          Tuesday April 7 th ~
Stopped in Danville, Arkansas and ministered at the nursing home in town for a rather large group of folks. Then on to the Nimrod Dam campground to say hi to the old-timer (Jim) who maned the gate and befriended me years ago. Turns out he passed on about a week ago.
          Wednesday April 8 th ~
Spent over an hour this morning trying to move the contact numbers from the old phone to the new, via Bluetooth. Finally succeeded after numerous failed attempts.
I used to shake my head at all the people focused on their smartphones in public. Now I wonder how many of those are simply trying to figure out how the thing works.
Back on the road headed north. Stopped in Dardanelle, Arkansas and sang at their large health & rehab center.
          Thursday April 9 th ~
Continued north into the Ozark National Forest to the town of Jasper where I was able to minister for a small group of residents at the "Newton County Nursing Home".
          Friday April 10 th ~
Crossed into Missouri to the town of Ava where I shared at the "Ava Place" facility. Then on to the Baptist Church at Macomb.
          Saturday April 11 th ~
     A Day of Rest.
          Sunday April 12 th ~
Attended the Cowboy Church in this area where I was given the opportunity to sing a few, and share about the recent Australian Mission.
Joined them at the local High School for the church's Fellowship Lunch. Then during evening services at the Macomb Baptist Church I was able to sing and share again about the trip.

And so begins another week.

Guard, Guide And Direct You.

Again he (Jesus) asked, "What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough."
Luke 13: 20, 21

          Monday March 30 th ~
Published the newsletter in Austin, Texas. Then got on the road headed north-northeast.
          Tuesday March 31 st ~
Stopped in Caldwell, Texas to minister at the "St. Joseph Manor".
          Wednesday April 1 st ~
Continuing north I sang at the "Autumn Leaves" nursing home in Henderson, Texas.
          Thursday April 2 nd ~
Crossed the border into Oklahoma where I was able to minister at the "Hill Top" nursing home in the town of Idabel. Met up with my friend David (Pastor of the Methodist church) for lunch. He even arranged a nice motel room for the night. Sweet!
          Friday April 3 rd ~
Sang at the "Memorial Heights" nursing home here in Idabel. Then drove to a State Park north of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
          Saturday April 4 th ~
A beautiful, sunny day. A cool front came through leaving temps just about perfect. Not too hot, not too cold, not too windy.
Continued north, crossing the border into Arkansas to the town of Hartford. Straight to the Assembly of God where some of the folks I know were doing some yard maintenance at the Veterans Memorial next door. Parked and plugged-in the van beside the church building and was given a key to the guest cottage across the street for convenient shower access.
This is one of the first churches I got to share in, way back when this ministry was started over ten years ago. I remember the Pastor meeting me out front and immediately asking, "Do you play a guitar?".
Surprised I answered, "Yes I do."
He then said, "Bring it in."
One of the more open and fearless congregations I've run across.
          Sunday April 5 th ~
Enjoyed the honor of sharing a song during the Easter Morning Service. Then during evening services I got to sing a few songs and share a bit about the Australian Mission.

And so begins another week.
