YouTube Interview

I first met Joel and Alexandria several  years ago at church  in Kalispell, Montana. A lovely couple who have begun traveling the country in their RV producing YouTube videos as a ministry for the Kingdom.
Last summer they did an interview with me and have now posted that on their YouTube channel.
Fair warning; run-time 18 minutes.

Georgia

              Mike's Unoccupied House

My dear friends Jay and Kathy here in south central Georgia have for many years had me park at their house while I'm in the area. They lead two churches on Sunday mornings where I get to share in song and testimony.
This year there are a number of opportunities to minister in the area for an extended period of time. A whole month.
Jay and Kathy love me and I'm pretty sure they'd put up with me for that long if I asked, but one of my concerns as I crisscross the country is to be very careful that I don't overstay my welcome. Been at their house for a week now.
Turns out the Pastor of one of the churches I'm due to share in, has offered an unoccupied house that I can park, plug in and shower at for the remaining duration of my stay.
The good Lord's provision for this ministry continues to Humble me.

Insulin

January 12, 1922

On this date 101 years ago the first insulin shot was given to a human, changing type 1 diabetes from a death sentence to a manageable disease.

While in my forties I became a type 1 diabetic, in my case called adult onset diabetes. Taking insulin shots every day for twenty years now.
For over eighteen years I've had the privilege of sharing the good news gospel of eternal life with God in heaven through faith in his son Jesus.
I have to believe that the good Lord put me into this world at this particular time, for his glory.

There's a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die.......

When my bones were being formed, carefully put together in my mother's womb, when I was growing there in secret, you knew that I was there— you saw me before I was born.

Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.

Contentment

Contentment

Single/married, wealthy/poor, young/old, etc/etc.

I like the way he puts it in Philippians:
Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.
In every situation in life there are pros and cons. Positive and negative aspects to that particular situation. The secret to contentment is to focus on the positive aspects of your situation and simply deal with the negative. Don't ignore the negative, deal with it. But try not to focus on the negative. Focus on the positive aspects of your situation.
For myself on the subject of being single or married, I have learned over the years to focus and think about and yes enjoy the positive aspects of being single. Doesn't mean I don't long for the comfort of a good wife, but I try not to focus on what I don't have. And I would hope and believe and work towards taking the same approach if I were married, focusing on the positive aspects of that situation. Allowing, helping and encouraging that love to grow.
Now, throw into the mix the fact of being a child of God with a future of being in a place that is indescribably beautiful (Heaven), an awesome Immortal Body, Surrounded by Love Forever.
This helps me deal with the bad things that happen in this life.
I suppose that the trials and tribulations of this life are not worthy to be compared to the riches and glory to come.
So, whatever is pure, whatever is Noble, if anything is Honorable or praiseworthy, think on these things.

The secret to contentment.

Brewton, Alabama

Here in Brewton there is a black lady (Lisa) who years ago obtained financial grants from the logging industry to start a food bank for those in need. Recently she started a restaurant that opens a few days a week for the noon meal. Unique situation. Those who are able donate, those who can't don't. There is a little mini stage beside the private volunteer pay booth and last year I was given the honor of singing gospel songs for the folks during lunch.
