One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message.
Acts 16:14

          Monday May 11 th ~
Published this weeks' newsletter from the home of old friends' John & Connie in Weldon, Illinois. Said my goodbyes and headed northeast.
          Tuesday May 19 th ~
Sang at "The Annex" (long term care facility attached to the hospital in Gibson City, Illinois).
          Wednesday May 20 th ~
Crossed into Indiana to the town of Logansport where I hooked up with folks at the Nazarene church.
Arranged a couple of nursing homes for the next few days. Ate lunch with the new pastor (Jeff) and enjoyed the opportunity to share song and testimony at mid-week services.
          Thursday May 21 st ~
Breakfast with one of the church members, then to Walmart for some insulin where I got a shock. Turns out that this past year the State of Indiana reclassified the insulin I use as a prescription drug. Bummer!
Went on over to the nursing home I arranged yesterday (WoodBridge). Sang for the folks, then drove to the Illinois border and back (140 mile round trip) for some insulin.
Got back to the church in the afternoon in time to do an oil change on the van and join Jeff for dinner.
          Friday May 22 nd ~
Ministered at "The Chase Center" here in Logansport. And later enjoyed a Fish Fry dinner with friends' Rod & Cheryl.
          Saturday May 23 rd ~
Joined a bunch of the Nazarene folks for a cookout at Horace & Linda's place.
          Sunday May 24 th ~
Attended worship services at the Church of God here in Logansport where I'd been invited to share a bit in song and testimony. Then got out to Horace and Linda's for lunch, a visit and stuck around for another evening cookout they hosted for the Church of God group.

And so begins another week.

When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.
Acts 13:48

          Monday May 11 th ~
One last day, here at "Inspiration Ministries".
Published the newsletter from the cabin provided for me, finished editing the song I've been recording; "Blessed Assurance" Click to Hear". Got up to the front of the complex for the resident's prayer time and said my goodbyes. Then spent some time dismantling the TRS (temporary recording studio), storing the equipment away in the van in preparation for heading out in the morning.
          Tuesday May 12 th ~
Got on the road early, crossing into Illinois to the town of Shabbona where I was able to minister at their "Prairie Crossing" nursing home.
          Wednesday May 13 th ~
Drove south to Clinton, Illinois and sang at the "Hawthorn Inn" assisted living facility.
          Thursday May 14 th ~
Ministered in the memory care section of the "Liberty Village" in Clinton. One of the residents harmonized beautifully with many of the songs. I was told she'd sang in choirs and such in the past. Well it sounded to me like she still had it.
          Friday May 15 th ~
Been parked at the home of old friends' John & Connie in Weldon, Illinois.
They minister locally in nursing homes and are worship leaders at their church, using a variety of instruments.
          Saturday May 16 th ~
     A relaxing day.
          Sunday May 17 th ~
Attended the "First Christian Church" nearby where I was given the opportunity to share in song and testimony at the beginning of the service.
Lunch with my host followed by a restful afternoon.

And so begins another week.

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
1 John 3:18

          Monday May 4 th ~
Published the newsletter from the Lodge at "Inspiration Ministries" in southern Wisconsin. Then spent the rest of the day assembling Cd's for handing out in nursing homes, having sat-up the TPS (temporary printing shop) in the cabin I've been given the use of.
          Tuesday May 5 th ~
Ministered at the Care Center in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Then back at (I.M.) there was a Blood Drive going on at the Lodge, so I contributed a pint.
          Wednesday May 6 th ~
Finished burning Cd's and printing labels as well as jacket covers for Cd cases and ministry cards. Should be enough for the rest of the year.
          Thursday May 7 th ~
Transitioned back to the TRS (temporary recording studio) and finished editing "The Old Rugged Cross" Click to Hear.
Then sang for the folks here at "Inspiration Ministries" in their "Family Room". We had one of the biggest crowds since I've been coming here. I love the exuberance exhibited by those with no inhibitions. One of the young lady's would jump up and enthusiastically blurt out words to the songs she knew (not always in the right places). Her excitement brought smiles and joy to many of us.
          Friday May 8 th ~
Started recording tracks for the next song "Blessed Assurance", then drove twenty miles to the other side of Elkhorn for a sweet visit with Sisters' Cindy & Joy.
Back to camp for a walk and shower before friends' Dwayne & Karen picked me up for a fish fry dinner at a local restaurant.
          Saturday May 9 th ~
Spent the first half of the day doing some recording work. Then a half day of rest.
          Sunday May 10 th ~
Attended "Faith Baptist" in Delavan where I had the opportunity to share a bit during the worship service. Then back to camp for a Sunday afternoon nap.

And so begins another week.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31

          Monday April 27 th ~
After running some errands in town (Grinnell, Iowa) I got over to a Sister's house to publish the newsletter, do laundry, get a shower and enjoy a delicious dinner with old friends.
          Tuesday April 28 th ~
One of the back tires on the van was getting some bald spots on the tread. A dear Sister with connections to a Shop in town arranged for a new tire as a donation. Sweet!
Sang at the "Windsor Manor" assisted living facility here in Grinnell for a lovely group of folks. One of the residents shared an awesome observation. She said, "This is the first time I've heard the word of the Lord since I've been here."
The Spirit must have been moving mightily because the activity director was crying as she came up to me afterwords, gave me a big hug and said, "This touched my heart."
          Wednesday April 29 th ~
Crossed the border into Wisconsin and stopped in Shullsburg to sing at their small nursing home.
Got an email from a Sister in Alabama. With her permission I thought I'd share it with y'all.

Larry, Just listened to What A Friend We Have In Jesus. That was my mothers (Carmen) favorite song. She used to play it on the piano & we would all sing along. Mother passed away on Easter morning (2003) while Tom & I were in sunrise services & she appeared to me in her young body. What a glorious confirmation of life for eternity.

          Thursday April 30 th ~
Made it to "Inspiration Ministries" in southern Wisconsin where as in previous years I've been given the use of one of their cabins.
I.M. is a non-profit, faith bases facility with residents of all ages suffering from physical and or mental disabilities. Located at the junction of two rural highways, they have a thrift store and workshop which some of the residents work in.
In the back wooded area of the property there is a large Conference Center and a number of all-season-cabins spread about. There's an area with several RV hookups which I'm able to park at.
So today I unpacked the recording equipment and sat up the TRS (temporary recording studio) and started working on "The Old Rugged Cross".
          Friday May 1 st ~
At Inspiration Ministries' Friday morning Devotion time I was given the opportunity to share some songs and a report on the Australian Mission. Then an afternoon doing more recording work.
          Saturday May 2 nd ~
Morning recording work, then walked to the front of the property to join the folks for CMA's (Christian Motorcycle Association) annual event. About 140 members came here this year to grill hamburgers & hotdogs and take residents for rides on their bikes. Festive!
          Sunday May 3 rd ~
Attended worship services at the "Living Word Assembly of God" church in Delavan, Wisconsin where I was given the honor of sharing during their Sermon time. Then joined most of the congregation at the Pastor's house for lunch and fellowship.

And so begins another week.
