Brewton, Alabama

"Mission at the Cross" Laurel, Mississippi
If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
Matthew 5:29, 30

Monday December 24 th ~     Began this week at "Salem Heights Baptist Church" in Laurel, Mississippi.
Joined a group who traditionally take a Rib Eye Roast Christmas Eve Meal to the "Mission at the Cross" in town.

          Thursday December 27 th ~
Breakfast with my friend Tommy and a new one, Kermit.
Kermit was 43 years old when; while cooling down in a pond, an alligator bit off his right arm.
He says up until then he was hard headed and hard hearted. His step daughter had recently ordered a Bible for him which arrived the morning of the incident. When she saw him at the hospital he says, "I did not hesitate to ask Jesus to forgive me of my sins and be Lord of my life".
He now says. "Even though it cost me my right arm, I can truthfully say that I consider the alligator incident to be a blessing, otherwise I would have continued on that day and perhaps never have come to grips with my eternal destiny".
          Friday December 28 th ~
Yesterday, after our lovely visit, there was just enough time to get over to "Country Place Senior Living" to minister.
          Saturday December 29 th ~
     A day off.
          Sunday December 30 th ~
Attended services at "Dogwood Hills" where I enjoyed the honor of sharing during the sermon time in song, testimony and message. Then lunch with the couple (Sarah & Tom) who gave me the camper van four and a half years ago.

And so begins another week.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
