August 26, 2013

Greetings,
For this week's newsletter go to;

For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.
Luke 19:10

          Monday August 19 th ~
Had breakfast with a bunch of guys from the "Restoration" church in Bandon, Oregon. Then drove to the Nazarene church in North Bend to publish the newsletter. Ended up getting invited to stay overnight at the pastor's house in their lower level apartment which they provide for visiting family and missionary's.
          Tuesday August 20 th ~
Drove to Bandon and ministered at the "West Wind" adult foster home. One of the fella's (Jay) from the "Restoration" church joined me, contributing his considerable guitar playing talents. Sweet!
          Wednesday August 21 st ~
Continued down the coast to a campground, resting the arm.
          Thursday August 22 nd ~
Back-tracked today.  Noticed the back tires on the van had worn down to the point where the metal fibers in the steel belt were showing through. So I drove 40 miles back to the Walmart in North Bend and got two new tires. Thankfully, last Sunday's love offering covered a little more than half the cost.
          Friday August 23 rd ~
Drove on into Brookings, Oregon and sang at the "Ocean Park" memory care facility for a large group of folks.
          Saturday August 24 th ~
At a campground just outside of town I met a wonderful group from one of the nearby churches who were having a getaway for the youth. I got to spend some time hang'n out with them and singing around their campfire.
          Sunday August 25 th ~
Attended the Assembly church in town with the youth group, then one more night visiting around the campfire. We had some excitement during the late afternoon. In the campsite next to mine a six year old boy went missing. For almost an hour the park rangers and a good many campers searched the trails and riverbank calling out his name, to no avail.
Needless to say, momma was getting a mite distraught.
Turned out, the little tyke was hiding up in the crook of a nearby tree. Later she drug him around for awhile introducing him to people who had been looking for him, which seemed to educate him on the mistake he'd made by not answering when he was called. It appeared that she was reluctant to let go of the vise-like grip she had, on that little arm of his.

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Yours in Christ, Larry
