At this my heart pounds and leaps from its place. Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice, to the rumbling that comes from his mouth. He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth. After that comes the sound of his roar; he thunders with his majestic voice. When his voice resounds, he holds nothing back. God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding.
Job 37:1-5

          Monday April 21 st ~
In Ottumwa, Iowa I stopped at what I call the Tomb Church. A group who converted a large skating rink located next to the highway into a church. They built a representation of the open tomb below three crosses for all to see.
          Tuesday April 22 nd ~
Ministered at the "Vista Woods Care Center" here in Ottumwa.
          Wednesday April 23 rd ~
Drove to Grinnell, Iowa and sang at the "St. Francis Manor".
Hooked up with friends at the Westfield Community Church where I was able to share in song, along with testimony and message for their youth group of about 20 teenagers.
Most of these kids are from un-churched families. This small Westfield group have been doing this ministry for many years now on Wednesday nights. They provide transportation and a meal, along with some spiritual food. I suspect a lot of fruit has been born from their efforts.
          Thursday April 24 th ~
Somebody called the Sheriff about me parking here at the church. No problem once he believed I had permission. Especially considering his dad is a resident at the facility (Mayflower) I sang at this afternoon.
          Friday April 25 th ~
Got over to the "Grinnell Care Center" where I was able to share with a small group of residents. This place seemed to be understaffed. The acting activity director was working as an aide, so there wasn't much staff involvement in our session.
          Saturday April 26 th ~
High winds and stormy. Rock'n the van enough to make sleeping difficult.
          Sunday April 27 th ~
Attended worship services at Westfield where I was given the honor of contributing some songs. Then got over to the Nazarene church in time to join some friends at their pot-luck meal.
Afternoon parked back at Westfield with more severe storms blowing through.

And so begins another week.

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.
James 1:26

          Monday April 14 th ~
Last night's storm left quite a mess around the church building. A crew was brought in to start hauling away the metal debris.
Church wifi still up and running so I was able to publish.
          Tuesday April 15 th ~
Ministered at the "Rocky Ridge Manor" in Mansfield, Missouri.
Spent the afternoon temporarily patching some of the storm damage on the van.
          Wednesday April 16 th ~
Drove over to Mountain Grove and sang at the "Autumn Oaks Care Center". Got back to the church in time to lend a hand removing wooden storm debris (barn trusses, tree limbs and such). Four men from the church showed up with chain saws and a tractor with a front-end loader.
     Then attended their mid-week service.
          Thursday April 17 th ~
The spoiler which was broken off the front of the van during Sunday nights tornado, I was able to store away under the bed. Just in case I run into someone who can repair and reattach it.
Headed north stopping in Lebanon, Missouri where I was able to minister at the "NorthRidge Place" assisted living facility. Then on to Fayette, Missouri to one of the few nursing homes which encourage me to park overnight.
          Friday April 18 th ~
Sang this morning for a lovely group of residents and staff here at the "Fayette Care Center". These dear folks lift my spirits by their hospitality; offering to share their meals during my stay, as well as use of the shower facilities.
          Saturday April 19 th ~
Did some writing, and drove a bit further north to a State Park.
          Sunday April 20 th ~
Attended the Baptist church in Greentop, Missouri where I was invited to share some songs and testimony along with a message. Such a warm, hospitable welcome from these dear folks.
I then drove on into Iowa.

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God

Guard, Guide And Direct You.

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Psalm 23:1-6

          Monday April 7 th ~
Pretty intense storm last night, here at the Lake Lurleen State Park near Coker, Alabama. Knocked down trees and power-lines all around. The church I was at yesterday had it's sign and steeple destroyed. Yet, their internet was still up and running which helped me to publish the newsletter.
          Tuesday April 8 th ~
Having crossed into Mississippi I stopped in Columbus and ministered at the "Vineyard Court Nursing Center" for a predominantly African American group of staff and residents. We had a joyful time together.
          Wednesday April 9 th ~
Sang at the "Providence Assisted Living" facility in Grenada, Mississippi.
          Thursday April 10 th ~
A bit further north I was able to minister at the "Providence Retirement Community" in Senatobia, Mississippi. First, for a rather large group of highly cognitive residents, then over in their Alzheimer's Unit for a smaller group.
The activity director presented me with some gas money attached to a very sweet note from several of the staff members, and even sent me off with a delicious ham sandwich to-go.
          Friday April 11 th ~
Cut across the northeast corner of Arkansas to Thayer, Missouri where I was able to share with some folks at the "Shady Oaks" nursing home. Then on to MaComb, Missouri where I've graciously been given access to the Baptist church building's kitchen and shower facilities as well as their wifi.
          Saturday April 12 th ~
Four weeks ago I was here at the Baptist church in MaComb when I got the call from Sarah in Alabama (700 miles south) offering their camper van to the ministry.
Spent a good part of today working on the laptop in the building. Then took a long walk along country lanes on this cool sunny day.
          Sunday April 13 th ~
Attended the Cowboy Church nearby where I was given the honor of sharing some songs and testimony.
Then got back over to the Baptist church in time to share during their morning worship service, as well as their evening service.
Got invited out to dinner afterwards, then Phil & Sue brought me back to the church where some kind of tornado had blown through (Pictures).
Knocked off the front spoiler of the van and put some dents in the back passenger side. Messed up that side of the church building pretty bad as well.

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God

When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.
Proverbs 10:25

          Monday March 31 st ~
Attended an early morning men's fellowship at the Methodist church here in Ocilla, Georgia. Then back to my host' (Jay & Kathy's) home to publish the newsletter and work on various chores.
          Tuesday April 1 st ~
Sang at the "Heritage Personal Care Home" for eight residents. Attended an evening practice / jam session with some of the guitar players from the church.
          Wednesday April 2 nd ~
Ministered at the "Shiloh Personal Care Home" here in Ocilla.
Attended an evening prayer service at the church.
T-Bone steak dinner back at the house. Yum!
          Thursday April 3 rd ~
Been an extra day here waiting for the title to the new rig to arrive. One of the church members (Bill) intercepted it at the post office and hand delivered it to me this morning. Ya gotta love small towns.
Wrapped things up. Enjoyed a goodbye lunch with Jay. And headed west.
          Friday April 4 th ~
Stopped in Dawson, Georgia and sang at "Dawson Health & Rehab". Then crossed the border into Alabama.
          Saturday April 5 th ~
Drove a bit further west to a State Park.
          Sunday April 6 th ~
Attended a worship service in the Park, led by a couple of men (David & Andy) from the nearby Baptist church where I was given the opportunity to lead a song and share testimony.
Followed them to their large church for the regular service, then Andy had me over to his house for lunch.
Back to the campground where severe weather came through during the night downing trees with lots of thunder, lightening and about four inches of rain. No leaks in my roof, or trees. Yeah!

And so begins another week.
