Ocilla, Georgia

Jay & Kathy

             Monday January 8 th ~
     Published from the home of Terry & Marsy in Quitman, Georgia. And later, this old man stayed up past midnight watching the National College Football Championship with my host.
          Tuesday January 9 th ~
     Having said my goodbyes, I drove to Ocilla, Georgia and hooked up with dear friends' Jay & Kathy.
          Wednesday January 10 th ~
     Started working on the yearly "Tax Chore" spread out on J & K's dinning room table. And later joined them at the Methodist church for their mid-week fellowship meal. Lots of kids.
          Thursday January 11 th ~
     Ministered at the "Palemon Gaskin" nursing home in town.
          Friday January 12 th ~
     Raining day! Stayed inside working on The Chore.
          Saturday January 13 th ~
     Finished the "Tax Chore". Yeah! Done, for another year.
          Sunday January 14 th ~
     Jay pastor's two churches in this area. He gave me the opportunity to share in both this morning. Lunch out, then back to the house for the playoffs.
   
And so begins another week.

Quitman, Georgia

"Refuge of Hope" Quitman, Georgia
     The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind. It is not the dead who praise the LORD, those who go down to the place of silence; it is we who extol the LORD, both now and forevermore. Praise the LORD.

             Monday January 1 st ~
     Published from the home of friends' Sarah & Tom in Brewton, Alabama. And watched the Georgia/Oklahoma college football playoff game with them.
          Tuesday January 2 nd ~
     Drove to Elba, Alabama and ministered at the "Taylor Mills" assisted living facility.
          Wednesday January 3 rd ~
     Sang for the folks at the "Wynnwood" assisted living facility in Enterprise, Alabama.
          Thursday January 4 th ~
     Crossed the border into Georgia to an army corp campground where I got the first discount with my new "Senior Pass".
          Friday January 5 th ~
     Drove to Quitman, Georgia and touched base with old friends.
          Saturday January 6 th ~
     Joe (one of the leaders of the Saturday morning service held at the rather large nursing home in town) gave me a half hour to share with the folks in songs & messages.
          Sunday January 7 th ~
     Attended the Methodist church in Quitman where I enjoyed the opportunity to share a bit in both services. Then back out to the "Refuge of Hope" (a very successful prison ministry) where I've been parking while in this area.
         
And so begins another week.

Brewton, Alabama

Christmas Day at the "Mission" in Laurel, Mississippi.
     An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
Proverbs 24:26

             Monday December 25 th ~
     Christmas Day!
          Published the newsletter from the "Salem Heights" Baptist church in Laurel, Mississippi. Then got over to the "Mission" in town where I enjoyed the opportunity to share a song and short message after their Christmas meal.
          Tuesday December 26 th ~
     Crossed the border into Alabama to the town of Brewton where I hooked up with old friends at the "Dogwood Hills" church.
          Wednesday December 27 th ~
     Ministered at the "West Gate" nursing home in town.
     Attended mid-week services at "The Well".
          Thursday December 28 th ~
     Sang for ten folks at the "Country Place" senior living facility in Brewton.
          Friday December 29 th ~
     Shared with a few at "The Meadows" assisted living facility. Then joined Tom & Sarah for lunch. They are the generous couple who donated the current "Tour Bus".
          Saturday December 30 th ~
     A walk in a park.
     Lunch with the pastor of Dogwood (Tommy).
     A bit of rest.
          Sunday December 31 st ~
     Attended services at Dogwood where I was able to share in song and short message.
     To bed long before the beginning of the new year.

And so begins another week.
