For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
Matthew 24:24

              Monday February 17 th  ~
In Quitman, Georgia I spent the day doing various chores; laundry, sending out the newsletter, visiting time with old friends. Ending with dinner and a last night parked at the "Refuge of Hope".
          Tuesday February 18 th ~
Said my goodbyes and started north.
Yesterday my body came under attach with chest cold symptom's. Which means I can't go into nursing homes until this passes.
          Wednesday February 19 th ~
Continued north to a "Team Challenge" complex where I'm allowed to park as I pass through this area. They've turned this facility into a men's rehab program whereby men of various ages live here for a full year. A highly regimented curriculum including Bible classes & worship services. There are forty-five men living here at this time.
          Thursday February 20 th ~
Continued inching my way north. Looked back through the journal and realized, it's been almost two years since I had a severe cold like this.
          Friday February 21 st ~
     Crossed into South Carolina.
          Saturday February 22 nd ~
A bit further north to the Chester State Park.
Cold symptoms beginning to ease somewhat.
          Sunday February 23 rd ~
I was indecisive as to rather I should go to church and see old friends, possibly exposing them to the remnant of this cold, or not. So I cast the Lot. The answer was, go ahead. So I hooked up with friends David, Amy & Gabby at church in Chester, South Carolina and spent the afternoon visiting back at their place.

And so begins another week.

When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
Matthew 25:39,40

             Monday Febraury 10 th  ~
Ministered at the "West Gate Village" nursing home in Brewton, Alabama.
Enjoyed a delicious pot-roast dinner at the home of Sarah (one of the members of the Dogwood Hills church) along with some of her family.
          Tuesday February 11 th ~
Breakfast with Tommy (pastor at Dogwood), then headed east.
          Wednesday February 12 th ~
Sang at the "Taylor Mill Oaks" assisted living facility in Elba, Alabama.
          Thursday February 13 th ~
Crossed the border to Donalsonville, Georgia and ministered at the "Seminole Manor" nursing home.
A tall---thin African American, encouraged me with a sweet complement which I felt was a positive thing, in the way he seemed to mean it. He said, "You restored my religion".
          Friday February 14 th ~
     Valentines Day!
Drove to Quitman, Georgia to the "Refuge of Hope" which is a prison ministry on 45 acres where men who are approved and conditionally released, go through a nine month faith based program, transitioning back into mainstream society. These folks have the best record in the state of Georgia for Recidivism (paroles not going back into prison).
Enjoyed the evening meal with the guys, then settled in for the night, plugged-in down at the pond.
          Saturday February 15 th ~
Attended an early morning (7:00 am) men's fellowship at the nursing home here in Quitman, then over to a furniture store where a group I know hold a similar get-together at 9:00 am.
Back to the nursing home for their mid-morning service where I was given the opportunity to share in word and song.
          Sunday February 16 th ~
Attended the first service at the Methodist church here in Quitman where I got to share a bit.
Over to the Crosspoint church to say hi to some old friends, then back to the Methodist in time for their second service where I was given the honor of presenting a Special.
Out to the "Refuge" for lunch. Then during their evening service I was invited to share a little.

And so begins another week.

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
Hebrews 13:1-3

             Monday Febraury 3 rd  ~
In Brookhaven, Mississippi I was able to minister at the "Golden Living Center" after publishing the newsletter.
Visited some with a man who stood beside me harmonizing beautifully with the first song "In The Sweet By & By". His 75 year old wife is here rehabilitating after an automobile accident which left her with many (26?) broken bones.
          Tuesday February 4 th ~
Sang at the "Lawrence County Nursing Home" in Monticello, Mississippi.
          Wednesday February 5 th ~
Continued east to Laurel, Mississippi where I arranged a nursing home for tomorrow. Did laundry. Got a shower at the "Salem Heights Baptist Church". Then joined them for their fellowship meal and mid-week service where I was given fifteen minutes to share some songs and messages.
          Thursday February 6 th ~
Ministered at the "Care Center of Laurel".
          Friday February 7 th ~
Crossed the border into Alabama, all the way to Brewton where I hooked up with Tommy (pastor of the Dogwood Hills Assembly of God).
They've started a prison ministry and turned the house next door into a kind of halfway house with two men staying there at the moment.
Had a delicious spaghetti dinner with the guys and had a place to park and plug-in.
          Saturday February 8 th ~
Spent the morning doing editing work on the laptop. Afternoon visiting with the guys.
          Sunday February 9 th ~
Attended morning worship services at Dogwood Hills where I enjoyed the opportunity to share some songs and short messages.
Lunch with Tommy's family, then again during the evening prayer service I got to share a bit.

And so begins another week.

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
1 Peter 2:11-12

          Monday January 20 th ~
Published from the country home of Don & Sue Ellen's at Spirit Hill. Then drove into east Texas to the Mission Tejas State Park.
          Tuesday January 28 th ~
A cold front due in --- with high temps near freezing. Thought I'd take a "Snow Day".
It didn't snow, so we'll call it a "Day of Rest".
          Wednesday January 29 th ~
Ministered at "The Arbor" nursing home in Rusk, Texas. Then east into Louisiana.
          Thursday January 30 th ~
Sang at the "Green Meadow Haven" in Coushatta, Louisiana. One of the rare times that activity staff actually canceled Bingo, in favor of the gospel music.
          Friday January 31 st ~
Ministered at the "Autumn Leaves" assisted living facility in Winfield, Louisiana.
          Saturday February 1 st ~
Having crossed into Mississippi, I spent the day at the Clear Spring campground in the Homochitto National Forest. Got in a couple of hikes, in spite of a swollen knee and bruised heal.
The only other occupants in the campground were three young men in tents, who intermittently were shooting off a rifle, which of course is not permissible in this environment. At one point I offered a short gentle lecture on being men of integrity. Doing what is right, even when there's no one around to enforce it.
     Hope it helped.
          Sunday February 2 nd ~
Drove fifteen miles east to the Baptist church in Lucien, Mississippi where I was given the honor of leading the song service, as well as sharing some short messages. These dear folks took up a sweet little love offering for the ministry.
The pastor and wife treated me to lunch at a Cracker Barrel, and even put me up in a nice motel room so I could watch the Super Bowl.   Awesome!

And so begins another week.
