February 3, 2014

Greetings,
For this week's newsletter go to;
www.nursinghomemusicministry.com/2-3-2014.html

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
1 Peter 2:11-12

          Monday January 20 th ~
Published from the country home of Don & Sue Ellen's at Spirit Hill. Then drove into east Texas to the Mission Tejas State Park.
          Tuesday January 28 th ~
A cold front due in --- with high temps near freezing. Thought I'd take a "Snow Day".
It didn't snow, so we'll call it a "Day of Rest".
          Wednesday January 29 th ~
Ministered at "The Arbor" nursing home in Rusk, Texas. Then east into Louisiana.
          Thursday January 30 th ~
Sang at the "Green Meadow Haven" in Coushatta, Louisiana. One of the rare times that activity staff actually canceled Bingo, in favor of the gospel music.
          Friday January 31 st ~
Ministered at the "Autumn Leaves" assisted living facility in Winfield, Louisiana.
          Saturday February 1 st ~
Having crossed into Mississippi, I spent the day at the Clear Spring campground in the Homochitto National Forest. Got in a couple of hikes, in spite of a swollen knee and bruised heal.
The only other occupants in the campground were three young men in tents, who intermittently were shooting off a rifle, which of course is not permissible in this environment. At one point I offered a short gentle lecture on being men of integrity. Doing what is right, even when there's no one around to enforce it.
     Hope it helped.
          Sunday February 2 nd ~
Drove fifteen miles east to the Baptist church in Lucien, Mississippi where I was given the honor of leading the song service, as well as sharing some short messages. These dear folks took up a sweet little love offering for the ministry.
The pastor and wife treated me to lunch at a Cracker Barrel, and even put me up in a nice motel room so I could watch the Super Bowl.   Awesome!

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God

Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Yours in Christ, Larry
P.S.    To God be the Glory!
