Laurel, Mississippi

     Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.

             Monday December 18 th ~
     Ministered for some folks at the "Jefferson Davis Hospital Extended Care Facility" in Prentiss, Mississippi.
          Tuesday December 19 th ~
     Hooked up with folks at the "Salem Heights Baptist Church" just outside of Laurel, Mississippi.
     Good Timing! They were hosting their noon "Senior Banquet" where I was given the honor of sharing a couple of songs. Then in the evening, at their "Teachers Banquet" I got to share a couple more songs.
     Lunch: Turkey, Ham & Dressing.
     Dinner: Fish Fry.
     Ate too much.
          Wednesday December 20 th ~
     Early part of the day doing domestic chores with the church's washer & dryer. Laptop work.
     Then after the mid-week dinner for over a hundred members, I enjoyed the opportunity to share a couple of songs in the following worship service.
          Thursday December 21 st ~
     It's my Birthday! Made it to sixty-two.
     Got over to the "Care Center of Laurel". Received a sweet welcome from the activity staff who have been here for many years. During one of the songs, the residents and staff got so excited that I actually got goosebumps. Another first.
          Friday December 22 nd ~
     Sang at the "Comfort Care Nursing Center" in Laurel. Then back to the church where I did an oil change on the van in the parking lot.
          Saturday December 23 rd ~
     A day of rest.
          Sunday December 24 th ~
     Attended morning and evening services here at "Salem Heights", then joined a group of members who take a "Rib Roast Dinner" to the guys at the "Mission" in town.

And so begins another week.

Laurel, Mississippi

             Monday December 11 th ~
     I had the honor of sharing in song, testimony and message with about forty guys at the "Teen Challenge" in Dodson, Louisiana during their morning devotion time.
          Tuesday December 12 th ~
     Ministered at the "Wyatt Manor" nearby.
An older, nursing home type facility with many folks suffering from mental issues.
Received a warm reception with enthusiastic participation.
          Wednesday December 13 th ~
     Sang for the residents at the "Forest Haven" nursing home in Jonesboro, Louisiana.
Later, at the Baptist church in Dodson I got to share in song and short message during the mid-week service.
          Thursday December 14 th ~
     Ministered in one of the nursing homes in Winnfield, Louisiana.
          Friday December 15 th ~
     Sang for a sweet group at the "Wood Haven" nursing home in Pollock, Louisiana. Then crossed the border into Mississippi.
          Saturday December 16 th ~
     A day of rest at the "Clear Springs" campground in the "Homochitto National Forest".
          Sunday December 17 th ~
     Attended the "Lucien Baptist" church with eight members. I was invited to sing one song at the beginning of the service. Then they were going to do the rest of the song service with a machine.
     Which they couldn't get to work.
     After a brief consultation, I offered to and ended up, leading the remainder of the song service.
The Lord works in mysterious ways.
    
And so begins another week.

Dodson, Louisiana

             Monday December 4 th ~
     Posted the Blog from the home of cousins' Don & Sue Ellen. Then started east.
          Tuesday December 5 th ~
     Sang at the "St. Joseph" facility in Caldwell, Texas.
          Wednesday December 6 th ~
     Drove to Hemphill, Texas and hooked up with Gary & Deb.
     I met Gary about eleven years ago in a Walmart parking lot in Oregon where we were both staying overnight. He was hauling travel trailers across the country for RV Dealers. I was in the ministry's first minivan.
     The pastor (Don) of their church here in Hemphill gave me the sermon time during the mid-week service to share in song, testimony and message. These dear folks even took up a sweet love offering for the ministry.
          Thursday December 7 th ~
     Ministered at the "Hemphill Care Center". Then toured the museum in town with Gary & Deb. It is about the recovery of the remains of "Columbia" which landed in this area when it broke up during re-entry.
          Friday December 8 th ~
     Said my goodbyes to my host after breakfast and crossed into Louisiana to the town of "Many" where I was able to share in one of the nursing homes in both the memory care section and then in the main dining room.
          Saturday December 9 th ~
     A day of rest.
          Sunday December 10 th ~
     Attended the Baptist church in Dodson, Louisiana. In the morning they had a Special Christmas service. At the evening service I was given the opportunity to share the "Israeli Presentation".
    
And so begins another week.

             Monday November 27 th ~
     Ministered at the "Hilltop" nursing home in Kerrville, Texas. Then drove to Lakeway, Texas and attended Barb's Home Church/Prayer Meeting/Pot-Luck Fellowship where I was given the honor of sharing in song and testimony.
          Tuesday November 28 th ~
     Sang for some sweet folks in the memory care section of the "Brookdale" facility in Lakeway. Then drove to Austin, Texas for a long lunch with my dear Brother George.
          Wednesday November 29 th ~
     A visit with Brother Richard who gave me a Tablet Device. Sweet! Then to dinner and a visit with Sister Sarah. Attended mid-week services at "Jubilee Christian Center".
          Thursday November 30 th ~
     Said my goodbyes to my buddy Richard, who for many years now, has given me a place to park and shower while in Austin. Then drove to Yoakum, Texas to spend time with my dear cousin Ricci. He and I are like twins. First cousins born three days apart.
          Friday December 1 st ~
     Drove northeast to Donny and Sue Ellen's. More cousins.
          Saturday December 2 nd ~
     Joined them for a little Conference held at a local B & B. Spent most of the morning visiting with and helping a cousin (Jamie) with the BBQ chore.
          Sunday December 3 rd ~
     Attended the Home Church worship service here at the B & B where I enjoyed the opportunity to share in song.
    
And so begins another week.

Kerrville, Texas

             Monday November 20 th ~
     Published from the "Westside Community Church" in El Paso, Texas. Then drove east to Van Horn, Texas.
          Tuesday November 21 st ~
     Drove east to Fort Stockton, Texas and ministered in their nursing home. First in the memory care section, then in the main dinning room.
          Wednesday November 22 nd ~
     Drove two hundred miles east across west Texas. The one nursing home I ran into required a criminal background check to enter. Thankfully, I only run into this about once every other year. Although I would pass; it takes two weeks to go through the process. By then I'd be in Louisiana.
          Thursday November 23 rd ~
     Thanksgiving Day!  Found a relatively inexpensive RV Park in Junction, Texas with cable TV hookups. Spent a relaxing day eating too much during and around the football games.
          Friday November 24 th ~
     Drove to Kerrville, Texas and sang at the "Villago" memory care facility.
          Saturday November 25 th ~
     Shared with some sweet folks at the "Brookdale" senior living facility here in Kerrville.
          Sunday November 26 th ~
     Attended the "Trinity Church" in Center Point, Texas which is just outside of Kerrville. I enjoyed the honor of sharing the "My Journey Through Israel" presentation during the sermon time.

And so begins another week.

El Paso, Texas

Proverbs 18:9             Monday November 13 th ~     Posted the update from "Bethel Baptist" in Deming, New Mexico. Then sang for ten folks at the "Willow Manor" in town.
          Tuesday November 14 th ~
     Ministered at the nursing home attached to the hospital here in Deming.
          Wednesday November 15 th ~
     Drove to El Paso, Texas and hooked up with folks at the "Westside Community Church".
          Thursday November 16 th ~
     Shared with a bunch of folks in the assisted living section of the "Good Samaritan" here in El Paso. Then over in the nursing home section as well.
          Friday November 17 th ~
     Sang for some sweet folks in the memory care section of "Good Sam".
          Saturday November 18 th ~
     Spent time enjoying some fellowship during the "Fall Bash" here at Westside. There were carnival games, inflatables, popcorn, cotton candy and music.
          Sunday November 19 th ~
     Attended services here at Westside where I was able to share a few songs. Then enjoyed their traditional Thanksgiving pot-luck lunch.
    
And so begins another week.

Deming, New Mexico

     This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

             Monday November 6 th ~
     Sang in the memory care section of the "Good Samaritan" in Socorro, New Mexico.
          Tuesday November 7 th ~
     Did the domestic chore thing; laundry and such. Then out to "Elephant Butte" near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico for some R & R.
          Wednesday November 8 th ~
     Rest.
          Thursday November 9 th ~
     Had to get to a tire repair shop this morning. Same tire that was patched a week ago. Seems they'd not removed all the nail. I watched a couple of youngsters doggedly wrestle for 10 minutes to remove the rest of it. Good job.
     Drove to the Cowboy Church near Las Cruces, New Mexico where I was given the honor of sharing in song, testimony and message during the service.
          Friday November 10 th ~
     Drove to Deming, New Mexico and ministered at the "Beehive" senior living facility.
          Saturday November 11 th ~
     Joined 10 folks from several local churches for their men's breakfast where I was invited to share about the Israeli trip. Then back at the church I'm parked at, the ladies were having a Brunch Breakfast which I got to sing a few songs at.
     Later in the afternoon I joined a hayride for the youth to the pastor (Mason's) house where I was given the opportunity to sing a few songs and share a short message around the bonfire.
          Sunday November 12 th ~
     Enjoyed the Honor of sharing the "My Journey Through Israel" presentation in place of the sermon time at Bethel Baptist here in Deming.
     Lunch with a few members at Denny's. Watched an afternoon football game in the van. Chance to share a couple of songs and encouragement during the evening service. Back to Denny's for dinner with a few folks. To bed late.
    
And so begins another week.

Datil, New Mexico

             Monday October 30 th ~
     Sent off the weekly update from the home of Kenny & Laurie in Springerville, Arizona.
          Tuesday October 31 st ~
     A slow leak on one of the back tires appeared a few weeks ago. This morning at a tire repair shop we found a small finishing nail embedded. They patched it up for only 12 dollars. Good to go.
          Wednesday November 1 st ~
     Drove to Vernon, Arizona and sang at the "Bannon Springs" facility for 8 residents and 3 staff members. Then to the "Angel Wings" residential care home where I was able to minister with 4 residents while the 2 staff members spent time in the garage smoking cigarettes.
          Thursday November 2 nd ~
     In Lakeside, Arizona I got to share with a bunch of folks in the memory care section of the "Haven Health" facility.
          Friday November 3 rd ~
     Drove to Greer, Arizona to the "White Mountain Lodge" and hooked up with the guys from the church in Springerville for their weekend men's retreat.
          Saturday November 4 th ~
     A day with the guys at the lodge. Various activities including moving a piano into town for the owner.
          Sunday November 5 th ~
     Up early and drove a couple of hours to Datil, New Mexico where I was given the opportunity to share the "My Journey Through Israel" presentation.
And so begins another week.

          Monday October 23 rd ~
     Started this week at "Beulah Retreat" near Albuquerque, New Mexico where I published the newsletter.
          Tuesday October 24 th ~
     Drove south to Socorro, New Mexico and sang at their "Good Samaritan" nursing home.
          Wednesday October 25 th ~
     Drove west through the Datil Mountains to Springerville, Arizona and hooked up with dear friends' Kenny & Laurie who Pastor the "Calvary" church in town.
     A decade ago this awesome family gave me their 1997 Dodge Caravan, which I lived in for four years as I ministered around the country.
          Thursday October 26 th ~
     Started the laptop work for the upcoming newsletter change.
          Friday October 27 th ~
     Ministered at the "Beehive" residential care home in this area. Then more laptop work followed by an afternoon of fellowship with my bud Kenny.
          Saturday October 28 th ~
     Breakfast with my host. The rest of the day on the laptop.
          Sunday October 29 th ~
     During the worship service here at Calvary I was given the honor of sharing a bit in song, as well as the "My Journey Through Israel" slide show presentation.
    
And so begins another week.

          Monday October 16 th ~
     Ministered in the nursing home attached to the hospital in Lacrosse, Kansas.
          Tuesday October 17 th ~
     Driving southwest; stopped in Kinsley, Kansas and sang at a nursing home with a unique name "Medicalodge".
          Wednesday October 18 th ~
     Crossed the far west edge of Oklahoma on into New Mexico to the town of Clayton where I was able to share with some folks in their nursing home.
          Thursday October 19 th ~
     Continued west to Albuquerque, New Mexico to "Faith Comes by Hearing". Touched base with Jerry, the founder. Then out to their "Beulah Retreat".
     Over the years they have transformed this five acre property into a lush garden with a pond, trees, three houses and a large horse barn, which they converted into living quarters.
     They provide a place (free of charge) for folks in ministry to come and recharge. There's a freestanding bathhouse that I can park beside and plug-in. Relaxing for a weekend with a bit of fellowship. Sweet!
          Friday October 20 th ~
     Enjoyed breakfast with my host' Jerry & Annette, along with two additional couples. One from India, the other from Dallas, Texas.
          Saturday October 21 st ~
     Breakfast with my host followed by a day of rest.
          Sunday October 22 nd ~
     Attended a local church, then back to Beulah.
    
And so begins another week.
