Sunset during mid-week fellowship meal at "Salem Heights" in Laurel, Mississippi. |
Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
Psalm 33:1-3
Tuesday December 19 th ~
Hooked up with folks at the "Salem Heights Baptist Church" just outside of Laurel, Mississippi.
Good Timing! They were hosting their noon "Senior Banquet" where I was
given the honor of sharing a couple of songs. Then in the evening, at
their "Teachers Banquet" I got to share a couple more songs.
Lunch: Turkey, Ham & Dressing.
Dinner: Fish Fry.
Ate too much.
Wednesday December 20 th ~
Early part of the day doing domestic chores with the church's washer & dryer. Laptop work.
Then after the mid-week dinner for over a hundred members, I enjoyed
the opportunity to share a couple of songs in the following worship service.
Thursday December 21 st ~
It's my Birthday! Made it to sixty-two.
Got over to the "Care Center of Laurel". Received a sweet welcome from
the activity staff who have been here for many years. During one of the
songs, the residents and staff got so excited that I actually got
goosebumps. Another first.
Friday December 22 nd ~
Sang at the "Comfort Care Nursing Center" in Laurel. Then back to the
church where I did an oil change on the van in the parking lot.
Saturday December 23 rd ~
A day of rest.
Sunday December 24 th ~
Attended morning and evening services here at "Salem Heights", then
joined a group of members who take a "Rib Roast Dinner" to the guys at
the "Mission" in town.
And so begins another week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
