Douglas, Georgia

"St. Mark United Methodist Church" Douglas, Georgia
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

Monday January 21 st ~     Began this week at the home of Jay & Kathy who Pastor a couple of churches in the area of Ocilla, Georgia.
This is the first full day of ear drops and oral antibiotic treatment for a nasty ear infection. Although the sharp pain has eased, I'm experiencing bouts of queasiness.
          Tuesday January 22 nd ~
By the afternoon I felt well enough to start working on the yearly Tax chore. Joined Jay for their mid-week Men's study.
          Wednesday January 23 rd ~
Spent the day on the Tax chore. Ear still clogged. Minor queasiness.
          Thursday January 24 th ~
Ministered at the "Heritage" personal care home. A challenge with one ear clogged. Later, more Tax work back at the house.
          Friday January 25 th ~
The van now has 205,500 miles on it. It's been 14 years and 120,000 miles since the last engine tune-up. A dear member of the church (James) had his mechanic install new spark-plugs, wires, cap & rotor and wouldn't let me pay. What a gift.
          Saturday January 26 th ~
Drove to Douglas, Georgia where Jay had arranged with a Pastor (Chris) friend of his for me to share in their church tomorrow.
          Sunday January 27 th ~
Enjoyed the honor of sharing in song, testimony and message at St. Marks Methodist. A bit of a challenge with the ear still stopped up.
I've been advised to, and went ahead and sat-up, an appointment with an ear, nose and throat specialist for tomorrow morning here in Douglas.

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Ocilla, Georgia (1)

"Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."
Isaiah 53:4, 5

Monday January 14 th ~     Started this week at the "Ring Bingham State Park" in Georgia. Spent most of the last week here dealing with a nasty Cold, which of course keeps me out of nursing homes.
In addition it's been a timely blessing that this Park has a winter promotion going on with 50% off camping fees through January.
          Tuesday January 15 th ~
 Cold symptoms persist.
          Wednesday January 16 th ~
     Symptoms easing up a bit.
          Thursday January 17 th ~
Most symptoms gone, but left ear won't clear. Started using a nasal spray.
          Friday January 18 th ~
Drove to Ocilla, Georgia and hooked up with old friend's Jay & Kathy.
          Saturday January 19 th ~
Time visiting. In the evening my left ear starting aching.
          Sunday January 20 th ~
At breakfast I took a pain pill and went back to bed. My host arranged for us to meet a Doctor (Howard, member of the church) after morning services at his office. This awesome Brother diagnosed a nasty ear infection. Wrote a prescription and wouldn't accept payment.
Jay took me to Walmart & Walgreens for ear drops and oral antibiotics; over three hundred dollars.
Back at the house, during the afternoon I started experiencing waves of nausea. Went to bed early. Eventually slept well through the night.

And so begins another week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
