The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

Monday November 10 th ~
Published the newsletter from the "Westside Community Church" in El Paso, Texas.
Did the laundry mat thing, then had a long lunch with Elis, one of the church members.
Tuesday November 11 th ~
Packed up and drove across the Hueco Mountains east of El Paso and on
through the Guadalupe Mountains. Cut across the southeast corner of New
Mexico and back into Texas all the way to the town of Lamesa just before
dark where I stumbled onto a free city campground with electric
hook-ups. Much appreciated on this sub-freezing night.
Wednesday November 12 th ~
Drove south to Stanton, Texas and sang at their Care Center. One young
lady (late 20's or 30's) sang along with most all the songs. She told me
afterwards that she was born with physical disabilities and brain
damage. And she was thankful that her momma wanted to have her anyway.
I continued south to Big Lake, Texas which turns out to be in the heart of an oil boom going on in this part of west Texas.
They have a rather large city campground with no occupants. I was
told that in the past the oil field workers had filled it up and created
so many problems that the city government had to run 'em out and only
allow overnight Rv'ers.
The town's Senior Center is situated in the park entrance and the
director handles the campground. My timing was pretty good. They were
having their once-a-week luncheon activity. I got invited to share the
meal and sing a few songs. Not the first time I've sung for my dinner.
The only shower facilities I could find were at a truck stop which
wanted 12 bucks. I couldn't quite justify that, so I did a sponge bath
in the van.
Thursday November 13 th ~
Ministered at the nursing home in Big Lake for a lovely group of folks.
Then drove southeast to Center Point, Texas and hooked up with folks at
the "Trinity Church".
Friday November 14 th ~
Sang at the "Alpine Terrace" in Kerrville for a small group of folks.
Then back to the church in Center Point (about 7 miles away). I started
getting sick. I suspect food poisoning from breakfast. A nasty case of
diarrhea, vomiting and chills. Finally eased up about 3:00 in the
morning.
Saturday November 15 th ~
Slept on and off through the first half of the day. Had a bite to eat in the afternoon. Started feeling a bit better.
Sunday November 16 th ~
Enjoyed the honor of sharing in song and testimony during worship
services here at "Trinity". Then rested through the afternoon.
And so begins another week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Your Brother in Christ, Larry Eugene Stevens
P.S. To God be the Glory!
